Job summary

MasTec Professional Services is seeking a CAD Designer to support power, oil & gas pipeline, and gas distribution projects. You will produce engineering drawings, check survey data, and import GIS field data into AutoCAD, collaborating with engineers and designers to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.

The role requires proficiency with AutoCAD 2016+, ArcGIS familiarity, and strong communication skills, with minimal travel and remote-based work options.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2016 and above.
• Experience in ArcGIS or equivalent software.
• Experience reading and comprehending construction plans.
• Experience preparing construction sketches.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Minimal travel will be required for this position.
• Remote based position.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers.
• Check survey information is complete and ready for design.
• Operate AutoCAD with a high level of competency.
• Prepare engineering drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
• Import field data from GIS based systems into AutoCAD.
• Use theoretical and practical engineering knowledge when preparing engineering drawings.
• Contribute to and implement design modifications to improve quality of projects and process improvements.
• Communicate effectively internally and with external stakeholders.
• Work in a team-oriented environment.
• Exhibit excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills and adapt to change.
