Job summary

The Department of the Auditor General (DAG) is seeking motivated self-starters to join our team of fiscal watchdogs. This full-time role supports pension oversight for police, firefighters, and other employees, with benefits and loan-forgiveness options.

Starting salary is $53,008 per year with excellent health and retirement programs. As an Auditor 1 in the Northeast region, you will review pension plans for compliance, analyze financial records, manage audit work papers, and help ensure

Qualifications

• Associate degree with concentration in accounting, business, data analytics, finance, economics, math, or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, data analytics, finance, economics, math, or closely related field.
• Equivalent combination of education, experience, and training in accounting, auditing, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Pension Compliance: Review municipal pension plans to confirm they meet all legal and policy requirements.
• Record Evaluation: Analyze documents, financial records, and other information related to pension administration.
• Data Management: Create, update, and access audit work papers, findings, and reports.
• Standards Application: Apply laws, regulations, and auditing standards while completing assigned audit tasks.
• Information Analysis: Locate and assess key data needed to complete pension audits.
