Job summary
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of the Auditor General, is seeking an Auditor 1 to help ensure municipal pension plans for police, firefighters, and other non-uniformed employees are properly funded and compliant with all laws and guidelines. You will review plans, analyze records, and prepare audit work papers in a home-based position with travel across Pennsylvania.
Starting salary is $53,008 per year. Full-time schedule is 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in accounting, business, data analytics, finance, economics, math, or related field.
Responsibilities
- Review municipal pension plans to confirm they meet all legal and policy requirements
- Analyze documents, financial records, and other information related to pension administration
- Create, update, and access audit work papers, findings, and reports
- Apply laws, regulations, and auditing standards while completing assigned audit tasks
- Locate and assess key data needed to complete pension audits
