CS&L CPAs is seeking an Audit Supervisor focused on Governmental and Nonprofit audits. This remote role supports clients in the public sector with a strong emphasis on GASB compliance and nonprofit/governmental engagements.

The position involves mentoring staff, leading audit engagements, and delivering high-quality client service while navigating complex accounting issues and relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of audit experience in a public accounting firm.
• Experience with GASB standards for governmental financial statements.
• Experience with nonprofit and governmental audits.
• CPA license or progress toward licensure preferred.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Travel to local client sites is expected, with 40–50% onsite in Bradenton/Sarasota area.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day audit engagements and act as the in-charge auditor.
• Design and perform audit procedures.
• Prepare financial statements and audit documentation.
• Apply CS&L's audit methodology across engagements.
• Communicate accounting/audit matters to Managers and Principals.
• Collaborate with clients to ensure efficient information flow.
• Research new accounting/auditing standards and share with team.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to audit staff.
• Apply GAAP and GAAS knowledge across engagements.
• Support scheduling, training, research, and other admin tasks.
