Job summary

CS&L CPAs is seeking an experienced External Auditor focused on Governmental and Nonprofit clients. This 100% remote role is based in Florida, with frequent client travel in the Bradenton/Sarasota area. You will lead engagements, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality audits in GAAP/GAAS and GASB guidance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of public accounting audit experience, strong communication skills, and a CPA or progress toward licensure. Hybrid benefits and a supportive culture are offered.

Qualifications

• Requires BA/BS in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of audit experience in public accounting.
• Experience with governmental financial statements and GASB standards.
• Experience with nonprofit/government audits preferred.
• CPA license or progress toward licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day audit engagements for governmental and nonprofit clients.
• Mentor audit staff and collaborate with client teams.
• Prepare financial statements and audit documentation.
• Apply CS&L audit methodology and GAAP/GAAS across engagements.
• Coordinate scheduling, training, and research activities.
