Job summary

CS&L CPAs PA is seeking an Audit Supervisor focused on governmental and nonprofit engagements. This remote role involves travel to Bradenton and surrounding areas during peak season, delivering high-quality audits and mentoring junior staff.

You will lead engagements, study complex accounting issues, and build trusted client relationships while applying GAAP/GAAS principles. A CPA licensure path is preferred and relocation isn’t required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of audit experience within a public accounting firm.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with GASB standards and governmental audits; nonprofit experience.
• CPA license (or progress toward licensure) preferred.
• Travel: local client sites daily; 40–50% on-site in Bradenton/Sarasota area.

Responsibilities

• Leading day-to-day audit engagements and serving as the in-charge auditor.
• Performing and designing audit procedures.
• Preparing financial statements and related audit documentation.
• Understanding and applying CS&L's audit methodology.
• Identifying and communicating accounting and auditing matters to Managers and Principals.
• Collaborating with clients to ensure efficient information flow during engagements.
• Researching new accounting and auditing standards and sharing knowledge with the team.
• Providing mentorship, coaching, and support to audit staff.
• Applying knowledge of GAAP and GAAS across engagements.
• Participating in scheduling, training, research, and other administrative functions.
