Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to modernize platform architectures by building scalable microservices and AI-enhanced features. You'll develop robust ETL pipelines and cloud-native solutions, working in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams across Python, Java, Node.js, and front-end tech.

You will contribute to CI/CD and automated testing, with flexible telecommuting options within the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a CS, IT or engineering related field.
• 1+ years of software engineering across the full SDLC (design to production support).
• 1+ years building cloud-based microservices and API-driven architectures using Python or Java.
• 1 year of front-end tech like Node.js, Typescript or React.
• 1 year designing and managing ETL pipelines using Actian Data Connect or similar tools.
• 1 year working with AWS or Azure cloud platforms (Lambda, S3, EC2, etc.).
• 1 year implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• 1 year in Agile/Scrum development environment.
• 6+ months integrating or building features that leverage AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain microservices and API-driven apps.
• Design, build, and optimize enterprise ETL data pipelines.
• Develop and deploy AI-powered features and automation solutions.
• Leverage AI tools to streamline workflows and automate tasks.
• Evaluate emerging tech to inform platform modernization and design.
• Architect and deploy cloud-native apps on AWS/Azure.
• Establish automated CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks.
• Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum team throughout the SDLC.
