Job summary

Olsson is hiring an Associate Electrical Engineer for Federal Engineering & Design. You will design electrical systems for federal facilities, gaining exposure to UFC, DoD, and VA requirements while working with licensed engineers.

You will use Revit, AutoCAD, and other tools to develop layouts, perform calculations, and support project coordination across multidisciplinary teams. This role offers growth in a national defense context and opportunities for field work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a concentration in power.
• Minimum of one year of engineering experience, internship, or equivalent academic project experience.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles related to building and facility systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of electrical systems for federal facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, communications, and life safety systems.
• Perform engineering calculations, system layouts, and equipment selections under licensed engineers.
• Develop and apply knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, AGi32, or similar tools for modeling and analysis.
• Assist with project schedules, design coordination, and collaboration with mechanical, civil, structural, and architectural teams.
• Research applicable federal design criteria and recommend technical solutions.
• Maintain project information in the firm's management systems.
• May travel to project sites and installations for design development and coordination.
