Harvard University is seeking an Associate Director of Research Administration and Finance within the Department of Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience.
• Advanced knowledge of sponsored research regulations.
• Supervisory experience.
• MBA or other relevant professional/master’s degree or certification is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of human subjects and animal use along with other research compliance areas.
• Experience with Harvard financial systems.
• Excellent analytic, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of research administrators and finance professionals.
• Oversee departmental pre-award operations, budgeting, and sponsor guidelines.
• Oversee post-award financial management activities, including reporting and cost transfers.
• Establish and oversee internal controls, compliance with sponsor requirements, and audit readiness.
• Improve financial operations through process documentation and scalable practices.
• Collaborate with HMS offices and external partners to manage complex sponsored programs.
