GEICO is seeking an Associate Counsel to join its Staff Counsel team. This remote position centers on venues within Queens, NY, defending insurance-related lawsuits. You will conduct legal research, draft briefs, and manage all phases of litigation from pleadings to trials.

Applicants must hold a JD and be admitted to the New York Bar, with 2 to 6+ years of experience in insurance defense or personal injury litigation. Travel for trials may be required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a JD and be admitted to the NY Bar in good standing.
• 2–6+ years of insurance defense or personal injury litigation experience.
• Ability to travel for trials and hearings and multi-task effectively.

Responsabilités

• Defend insurance-related lawsuits filed in New York courts.
• Conduct legal research, prepare briefs and memoranda.
• Render opinions on liability and damages for the Claims Department.
• Handle all aspects of litigation including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and trials.
