Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York and in good standing.
• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Experience in civil litigation or insurance defense.
• Willingness to travel to attend trials and hearings, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
• Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.
• Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under oath.
• Defend by trial or dispositive hearing and manage other assigned matters.
