Ideal candidates are locally located within commuting distance to Traverse City, MI. HQ is in New York, and the position entails coordinating with our main office via telephone and electronic means.

Qualifications

• Must be admitted to practice law in Michigan.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm.
• Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with senior management and staff.
• Strong legal research skills; LexisNexis proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a heavy and diversified caseload of Michigan clients.
• Communicate with clients regarding their matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda; review and draft agreements.
• Communicate with opposing parties to resolve/settle claims.
• Conduct legal research related to contract and consumer law issues.
• Travel for in-court appearances as needed.
