SEH, an employee‑owned engineering, architectural, planning and environmental firm, is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead our accounting operations and support the annual audit. This remote role partners with the Controller and senior leadership on financial strategy and process improvements, offering a seat at the table for strategic input.

Base compensation ranges $110,000 to $140,000 and eligibility for employee‑owned benefits.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• CPA, Active or Inactive.
• Experience as Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller or Controller.
• Experience with annual financial statement audits.
• Broad end-to-end accounting operations expertise (AP/AR, treasury, audits, close, reporting, contracts).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Proven ability to manage and develop accounting teams.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel; leverage tech to improve processes.
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead all accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Evaluate accounting standards and regulatory changes; advise leadership on impacts.
• Maintain relationships with external auditors to support audits and controls.
• Manage treasury activities: daily cash, forecasting, bank relationships, covenants.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls; uphold policies.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variances.
• Partner with ops and leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff.
• Collaborate with Controller on strategic finance initiatives.
