Job summary

SEH is an employee-owned engineering, architectural, planning and environmental firm seeking an Assistant Controller to lead accounting operations and partner with senior leadership on financial strategy.

In this remote role, you will oversee month-, quarter-, and year-end closes, manage treasury activities, coordinate with auditors, ensure GAAP compliance, and mentor the accounting team while driving process improvements. Base pay is $110,000–$140,000 per year with benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• CPA certification either active or inactive preferred.
• Experience as Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller or Controller.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly and annual closes.
• Advise leadership on new accounting standards and regulatory changes.
• Coordinate with external auditors for audits and controls.
• Oversee treasury activities including cash forecasting and banking relations.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports and variance analyses.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cost management with operations.
• Lead, develop and mentor accounting staff.
• Collaborate with Controller on financial strategy and process improvements.
• Remote role open to most US states with relocation options noted.
