Job summary

Terabase Energy, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee global accounting operations, strengthen controls, and scale financial processes across jurisdictions. You will lead the accounting team, ensure GAAP compliance, and drive system optimization with NetSuite and automation initiatives.

You will collaborate with FP&A, Operations, and cross-functional leaders to deliver accurate reporting, budgeting, and strategic insights in a fast-growing solar technology company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Active or inactive CPA credential.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience in cost or manufacturing accounting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, consolidated financial reporting, and multi-entity accounting.
• Experience operating in international or multi-jurisdictional environments.
• Prior experience with NetSuite.
• Previous audit experience (public accounting or internal audit function).
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing accounting teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial close processes across multiple entities and international jurisdictions.
• Oversee general ledger integrity, account reconciliations, and company-wide adherence to US GAAP and internal policies.
• Prepare, review, and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and management reporting packages; monitor actuals versus budget and investigate variances.
• Oversee all cost accounting processes, including standard cost development, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variances.
• Partner closely with our Cost Accountant and Operations to provide financial insight into cost drivers, efficiency initiatives, and product-level profitability.
• Strengthen internal control frameworks and ensure consistent compliance across business units and international entities.
• Lead preparation for external audits, liaise with auditors, and implement recommendations to improve financial accuracy and efficiency.
• Work with contractors to support tax and regulatory filings in multiple jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Support Sales and external specialist on contract sales tax considerations, reporting, filling and remittance.
• Oversee accounting system data integrity; be SME/owner of NetSuite, configuration, workflows, and optimization.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and implement scalable, technology-enabled solutions, including AI where possible.
• Champion process improvement initiatives that enhance accuracy, visibility, and efficiency across Accounting & Finance.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team; partner with FP&A, Operations, Engineering, and Commercial teams for clarity and alignment.
• Support strategic initiatives, including global expansion, system enhancements, integrations, headcount management, and future M&A integration.
