Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Remote Intermittent Interpreter to support Student Life Disability Services. The role provides interpreting services for d/Deaf and hard of hearing students in academic settings, meetings with faculty and staff, and public programming.

Remote hours may include evenings and weekends. Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree or NAD-RID certification, complete an interpreter training program, and demonstrate proficiency in ASL with strong English

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or NAD-RID certification.
• Completion of an Interpreter Training Program from an accredited institution.
• Proficiency in ASL, including Academic ASL.
• Mastery of a high register of the English language, including spelling, grammar, and extensive vocabulary.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services for students or prospective students who are d/Deaf or hard of hearing.
• Ensure appropriate accommodations in academic settings, in meetings with faculty and staff, and for public university programming.
• May work some evening and weekend hours.
• All hours worked will be remote.
