Job summary

American Healthcare Management Group is seeking an Area Director of Operations to lead the Executive Directors across Florida communities. You will drive quality of care, financial performance, and state compliance in a fast-growing portfolio while reporting to the Executive Vice President.

The role requires hands-on leadership, weekly coaching, P&L oversight, and collaboration with Sales, HR, and organizational leadership. Travel 50–75% with remote work in the Southeast.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of senior living operations leadership, including 2+ years overseeing two or more communities.
• Experience as an Executive Director or Administrator of an assisted living or memory care community.
• Direct accountability for community operating budgets: budget creation and performance.
• Led a community through a state licensing survey for assisted living or memory care.
• Florida Assisted Living Facility Core Training completed, or willingness to complete within 90 days.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 50–75% across the Southeast.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Executive Directors across multiple communities, with weekly 1:1s and leadership meetings.
• Own P&L performance, review monthly results against budget, and assist in annual budget development.
• Maintain compliance through mock surveys and audits of records, plans, and training.
• Grow census and revenue by partnering with Sales & Marketing on occupancy goals and pipeline.
• Oversee care quality, clinical outcomes, and quarterly quality improvement meetings.
• Lead onboarding of new communities, licensing, staffing, and systems transition.
