Job summary

Kaplan is seeking a remote Subject Matter Expert to assist Kaplan's engineering team in developing material to prepare students for the Architect Registration Examination (ARE). This is a remote opportunity with flexible hours (up to 20 per week).

Responsibilities include writing quiz questions, creating ARE study materials for the six exams, QA reviews, and contributing to study plans to meet student expectations. This is a 1099 contract role with project-based pay and timelines.

Qualifications

• Excellent command of English, written and verbal.
• Have taken CBT format of any ARE exam.
• Have passed the ARE examination for the exam they wish to contribute to.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Provide prompt and responsive communication, mostly by email. Occasional video chat meetings during business hours may be required.
• Be proactive, take initiative, and accept feedback.

Responsibilities

• Write quiz questions and practice exam questions in the ARE style.
• Create study materials for any of the six ARE examinations: Practice Management; Project Management; Programming & Analysis; Project Planning & Design; Project Development & Documentation; and Construction & Evaluation.
• Perform quality assurance reviews, technical reviews, and erratum correction.
• Contribute to suggested study plans, and provide feedback on customer expectations for study and preparation.
