Job summary

dormakaba is seeking a remote-based Architectural Specification Writer to develop architectural specifications for end users, architects, and design-build firms across the North American portfolio.

The role requires 5+ years in the door and hardware industry, knowledge of IBC/NFPA/ADA, and CSI MasterFormat experience, with a base salary of $90,000–$105,000 plus a sales incentive plan. Interaction with architects, contractors, and owners is key throughout submittal and compliance processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the door and hardware industry
• Knowledge of IBC, NFPA 101/80/105, ADA compliance
• Experience writing specs in CSI MasterFormat Division 8, 10, 11, 28

Responsibilities

• Provide project specifications for the entire product portfolio across North America
• Ensure specs meet facility needs and end-user functions
• Ensure specs comply with applicable codes and standards
• Prepare catalog cuts and product information for architects
