dormakaba is seeking a remote Specification Writer (Architectural Hardware) based in the continental US. The Specification Writer is responsible for writing architectural specifications to support end users, architects, and design build firms.

They will support the entire portfolio of dormakaba’s solutions and products and interact with architects, contractors, and owners throughout the process of developing solutions, publishing specifications, complying with owner’s standards, and managing the

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years writing door/hardware specifications.
• Experience aligning specs with CSI Master Format guidelines.
• Knowledge of IBC, NFPA, ADA compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Produce specifications for the entire dormakaba product portfolio.
• Write specs in CSI Master Format divisions 8, 10, 11 and 28.
• Ensure specs meet facility functions and end-user needs.
• Verify specs comply with applicable building and local codes.
• Prepare catalog cuts and product data for architects.
