Job summary

NV5 is seeking an Acoustical Consultant to join its Architecture acoustics practice. You’ll manage room acoustics, isolation, and vibration control across diverse national projects, including healthcare, theaters, and resorts, often working remotely and across multiple concurrent assignments.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in architectural acoustics, a relevant bachelor’s (master’s preferred), and proficiency in modeling software, BIM tools, and report writing.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years’ experience as a consultant in architectural acoustics.
• Bachelor’s degree in acoustics, audio/music engineering, mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, or physics including relevant classes or a degree concentration in acoustics or vibration; Master’s degree preferred.
• INCE Board Certification preferred.
• Expertise in room acoustics, sound isolation, mechanical system noise and vibration control, and environmental acoustics.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the project design team with an evidence-based approach to architectural acoustics.
• Develop high-quality reports, sketches, drawings, details, and cost analyses.
• Analyze acoustic solutions using computer modeling software.
• Perform on-site acoustics testing and noise surveys.
• Review submittals and shop drawings and coordinate with Principals and marketing for proposals.
• Ensure on-time, in-budget delivery while upholding NV5 standards.
