Job summary

NV5 is seeking an Acoustical Consultant to join its architectural acoustics practice, delivering room acoustics, sound isolation, and vibration control solutions for classrooms, healthcare facilities, theaters, and more. You will develop reports, perform modeling, and conduct on-site testing, coordinating with project teams to ensure quality and timely delivery.

This US-based, remote-friendly role requires 5–10 years in architectural acoustics, a relevant degree, and strong communication skills,

Qualifications

• 5–10 years’ experience in architectural acoustics consulting.
• Bachelor’s degree in acoustics, audio/music engineering, mechanical or architectural engineering, or physics with acoustics focus.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.
• INCE Board Certification preferred.
• Strong expertise in room acoustics, sound isolation, HVAC noise control, and environmental acoustics.
• Proven attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to project design teams with an evidence-based approach to architectural acoustics.
• Develop high quality reports, sketches, drawings, details, and specification documents.
• Analyze acoustics using computer modeling software and perform on-site testing.
• Review submittals and shop drawings, coordinate with principals and marketing for proposals.
• Ensure work is delivered on time, within budget, and to NV5 standards.
• Travel as needed for site visits and testing across projects.

Education

Bachelor's degree in acoustics / related field

Master’s degree preferred
