Job summary

Koniag Technology Solutions, inc a Koniag Government Services company is seeking an Architect/DevOps Engineer to support a Federal government modernization effort. The role is remote and requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Responsibilities include designing scalable multi-tenant architectures, implementing Zero Trust per NIST, and building CI/CD pipelines while ensuring compliance with FIPS 140-2 and FedRAMP standards. You will collaborate with USDA mission systems and security teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field is required; a Master's is preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of combined systems architecture and DevOps/infrastructure experience, with federal government exposure.
• Hands-on design of cloud-native, microservices architectures on platforms like cloud.gov, AWS GovCloud, or Azure Government.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for federal software systems and implementing Zero Trust.
• Knowledge of FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, and security tooling (OWASP ZAP, Snyk).
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust; familiarity with government cloud platforms and API integration patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design and document a scalable, multi-tenant architecture supporting 10+ USDA agencies.
• Ensure alignment with cloud.gov hosting requirements and federal data standards.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI) for automated builds, tests, and deployments.
• Implement and maintain Zero Trust Architecture per NIST SP 800-207.
• Ensure data is encrypted at rest and in transit using FIPS 140-2 validated solutions.
• Manage deployment scripts and infrastructure configuration as the system evolves.
• Support API design for integration with USDA mission systems.
• Conduct vulnerability scanning and support security assessments and pen tests.
• Ensure 99.99% availability during business hours; maintain inventory of devices storing sensitive data.
• Ensure all software components are supported and not end-of-life.
