Job summary

CrowdGen by Appen is seeking a Transcription Specialist to review audio, transcribe spoken content, and refine transcripts to support AI language models. Remote, flexible hours, independent contractor role.

You will listen to audio, capture exact speech including fillers, add timestamps, label speakers, and mark non-speech events. Prior transcription experience and strong attention to detail required; English reading skills and Arabic spelling proficiency essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of Arabic spelling conventions.
• Fluent in Egyptian dialect.
• Strong reading comprehension in English.
• Stable internet connection.
• Attention to detail and listening skills.
• Prior transcription experience with audio data.
• Access to a PC/laptop or tablet.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings into text with high accuracy.
• Capture speech exactly as spoken, including pauses, fillers, repetitions and incomplete sentences.
• Add timestamps to match the audio.
• Identify and label different speakers in conversations.
• Mark non-speech events such as laughter, background noise, or unclear audio.
