Placements24 is seeking an Application Security Engineer to join our fully remote engineering team. You will integrate security into the SDLC, perform security testing, and work with developers to remediate vulnerabilities, all while shaping secure software from the ground up.

This remote role emphasizes collaboration with a distributed development team. You will develop secure coding standards, stay updated on threats, and guide teams in applying best practices, including SAST/DAST/IAST tooling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in application security or software development with a security focus.
• Proficiency in identifying and remediating common web application vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10).
• Experience with security testing tools (SAST, DAST, IAST) and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Integrate security practices into the SDLC, including threat modeling, code reviews, and security testing.
• Perform security assessments and penetration testing of web and mobile applications.
• Develop and maintain secure coding guidelines and best practices for developers.
• Collaborate with development teams to identify, prioritize, and remediate application vulnerabilities.
• Implement and manage security tools such as SAST, DAST, and SCA.
• Provide guidance and training to development teams on application security principles.
• Stay current with emerging application security threats and vulnerabilities.
