Job summary

Clipboard is seeking an Applied Science Manager to build and lead the company’s Applied Science function. You will own the roadmap for science across the marketplace and lead a small team of Applied Scientists, delivering models and insights that drive pricing, auctions, and experiments.

You will define metrics, report marketplace performance, and partner with product, engineering, and finance to scale models from prototype to production. This role blends leadership with hands-on IC work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, engineering, mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building and deploying quantitative models in applied or research settings.
• Fluency querying data directly with SQL or equivalent tool.
• Experience designing and analyzing controlled experiments.
• 1-3 years of experience managing or leading a team.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap and vision for applied science across the marketplace.
• Lead a small team of Applied Scientists and grow the function.
• Develop and maintain the quantitative infrastructure: pricing algorithms, auction mechanisms, causal models, metrics, experiments.
• Define key metrics, measurement methodologies, and reporting for marketplace performance.
• Balance production work with analysis and decide priorities and scope.
