Job summary

Varsity Tutors is seeking Applied Mathematics tutors to join our online Live Learning Platform. As an independent contractor, you set your schedule, earn competitive rates up to $40/hour, and invoice for sessions from home.

You will work with advanced undergraduates and graduates, explaining differential equations, numerical methods, and modeling; use MATLAB and Python; adapt to each student’s learning style; and enjoy flexible hours, remote work, and fast payments twice per week.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of differential equations, numerical methods, and modeling.
• Ability to explain modeling techniques for real-world problems.
• Experience explaining complex math concepts to diverse learners.
• Familiar with MATLAB and Python as teaching tools.

Responsibilities

• Tutor online one-on-one sessions to individual students.
• Explain mathematical models, numerical solution methods, and results.
• Adapt instruction to each student’s needs and learning style.
