Job summary

Future is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to build AI-powered features that ship to production and impact product experience. You will own the full lifecycle from concept to deployment, including experimentation, evaluation, and monitoring of AI systems.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to design scalable, cost-conscious solutions, optimize latency, and deliver reliable tools like tool-calling LLM agents with structured outputs, while prioritizing safety and quality in

Qualifications

• Strong Python skills and experience deploying services in production.
• Experience with LangChain/LangGraph or similar agent frameworks.
• Hands-on production experience with LLMs: prompt engineering, tool calling, structured output, evaluation.
• Comfort with async Python, APIs, and streaming protocols (SSE, webhooks).
• Experience with data validation and schema design (Pydantic, JSON Schema).
• Ability to debug complex LLM tool calls and Terraform resources.
• Clear communication with product, mobile, and backend engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship AI agents that serve real users: tool-calling LLM systems with structured output, parallel API orchestration, and streaming responses.
• Design evaluation harnesses and quality scoring for safety, effectiveness, and personalization.
• Own the full loop: prototype, eval, deploy to staging/production, monitor traces, iterate.
• Improve reliability, latency, and cost via prompt caching, token budgets, retries, and observability.
• Write the tools agents use: API integrations with validation, local data search, structured workout submission.
