Job summary

Alignerr is seeking an Application Security Analyst (AI Training) to work on real-world security scenarios, helping AI systems learn to assess and remediate risks.

You will review code, APIs, and system behavior, classify vulnerabilities, evaluate secure coding practices, and create security-focused datasets for AI training. This remote hourly contract offers flexible hours and the chance to impact how AI understands cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience in application, product, or software security.
• Solid understanding of the OWASP Top 10 and common vulnerabilities in production systems.
• Able to distinguish genuine exploitability from theoretical or low-impact risk.
• Strong written communication and systematic reasoning about security problems.
• Self-directed and comfortable working asynchronously on task-based assignments.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze real-world application security scenarios spanning code, APIs, and system behavior.
• Classify vulnerabilities including authentication flaws, injection risks, access control issues, and business logic weaknesses.
• Evaluate secure coding practices and assess remediation strategies.
• Create and validate security-focused datasets that teach AI how to assess application risk.
• Provide structured, expert-level written analysis that AI systems can learn from.
