Job summary

Mental Health Cooperative is seeking an Application Developer to design, develop, implement, and support business applications and technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and user experience. The role spans web apps, forms, workflows, integrations, and reporting, collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Professional experience developing and supporting business applications across multiple technologies.
• Experience with web application development, relational databases, SQL, APIs, system integration, file processing, electronic forms, or reporting technologies.
• Working knowledge of secure development practices, application architecture, testing, debugging, deployment processes, and basic version-control concepts.
• Ability to analyze business processes and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience supporting production applications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality work in a changing environment.
• Strong written, verbal, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business processes and define requirements.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain web applications, forms, and reporting solutions.
• Develop interfaces among applications, databases, APIs, and data exchanges.
• Create technical designs balancing speed, maintainability, security, and performance.
• Write clean, structured code following standards and maintain documentation.
• Establish and maintain basic version-control practices and repository organization.
• Develop database objects and data-access components to support applications.
• Communicate status, risks, and needs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Manage changes in requirements and ensure traceability to business needs.
• Perform testing and addressing defects before production release.
