Job summary

Maximus is seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead Appian Developer to drive design, development, and implementation of complex case management and workflow automation solutions in a federal environment.

You will lead development initiatives, implement AI-driven capabilities, ensure compliance with strict security standards, and contribute to BSA/security frameworks while working in a remote capacity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 7+ years of hands-on Appian development experience (design, configuration, and implementation of enterprise-grade applications) using Appian 17.x or later.
• 3+ years in a technical lead or senior developer capacity, leading small-to-medium development teams.
• Proven experience delivering mission-critical applications within federal or highly regulated environments.
• Experience integrating AI into business processes with low-code AI features and Appian AI familiarity.
• Strong SQL and relational database skills, with Oracle experience.
• Hands-on AWS cloud services experience.
• Strong Agile software development experience.
• U.S. citizenship required due to federal contract requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement complex case management and workflow automation solutions.
• Lead development initiatives and small-to-medium teams.
• Integrate AI capabilities into business processes (e.g., document classification, extraction, automation).
• Ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST, Section 508, and records management standards.
• Collaborate in an agile environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
