Job summary

Protect Democracy is seeking an Annual Giving Officer to steward a portfolio of mid-level donors and help grow our grassroots and peer‑to‑peer programs. You’ll work with the Partnerships team to expand our donor base and create high‑quality communications that reflect our mission.

This role offers a remote‑first environment across the United States, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, data‑driven fundraising, and building durable donor relationships to sustain our democratic impact.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of fundraising experience with donors.
• Experience identifying, cultivating, stewarding, closing, and renewing 4-5 figure gifts.
• Proficiency with fundraising tools and CRMs, especially Raiser's Edge.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of ~300 mid-level donors and institutional partners with regular communications and renewal solicitations.
• Aim to grow the portfolio to 500 by 2028 through collaboration with the Partnerships team and peer-to-peer expansion.
• Write and distribute quarterly e-newsletters and bi-annual e-appeals to grassroots donors.
• Prepare materials and communications reflecting Protect Democracy’s voice for grants, reports, and donor correspondence.
• Engage in external meetings with donors and intermediaries to represent the organization.
