Job summary

Coinbase is hiring an Analytics Engineer to join the Compliance Technology team within the Platform organization. You will build and own end-to-end data pipelines powering compliance detection and decisioning, collaborating with Compliance, Product, and Engineering to ensure monitoring is effective and auditable.

You’ll design data models and feature sets for Transaction Monitoring, EDD/KYC, and screening, maintain data quality, and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency and

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of analytics engineering, data engineering, or data-heavy roles.
• Advanced SQL proficiency with complex transformations and quality checks.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data models using dbt and Airflow.
• Ability to drive cross-functional, regulated projects with clear communication.
• Python for automation, pipeline development, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain curated datasets and data models powering compliance controls across monitoring and screening systems.
• Own data quality for compliance datasets with validation, lineage, and audit readiness.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to close upstream data gaps and standardize instrumentation.
• Improve detection signal quality while reducing non-actionable noise and maintaining sensitivity.
• Implement measurement frameworks and reusable reporting pipelines for compliance leaders and auditors.
