Job summary

LAC Federal seeks an experienced Alma Platform Manager to provide senior technical support for a federal agency. This role combines Ex Libris Alma administration, Python-based workflow automation, metadata and data integration, change management, and operational monitoring to support cataloging, metadata, acquisitions, indexing, and downstream integrations.

The position is primarily remote with periodic on-site meetings requiring travel to Beltsville, Maryland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field.
• Experience administering Ex Libris Alma Library Services Platform (roles/permissions, metadata configuration, job monitoring).
• Experience with Python-based workflow automation and integrations with external systems.
• Experience diagnosing data-flow, indexing, and schema issues in relational or cloud databases.
• Experience Agile/Scrum, change-control governance, and documentation practices.
• Familiarity with MARC21, Dublin Core, RDA, MODS or comparable schemas.
• Ability to travel to Beltsville, MD as required.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Ex Libris Alma and related configurations.
• Monitor Alma jobs and data workflows; troubleshoot disruptions.
• Maintain Python pipelines for ingestion, transformation, indexing, and synchronization.
• Lead change-management lifecycle: sandbox testing, deployment planning, rollback, documentation.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and ensure governance compliance.
• Maintain operational monitoring, dashboards, and incident management.
• Support business continuity, backup/restore readiness, and Ex Libris release windows.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors; produce clear technical docs.
