Job summary

LAC Federal is seeking an experienced Alma Platform Manager to provide senior technical support for a federal agency. This role combines Ex Libris Alma administration, Python-based workflow automation, data integration, and governance to maintain library systems used for cataloging, indexing, and downstream integrations.

The position is primarily remote with periodic on-site attendance in Beltsville, Maryland, requiring coordination with agency librarians, IT personnel, and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or higher.
• Hands-on experience administering Ex Libris Alma.
• Proficiency in Python-based workflow automation.
• Experience with data integration and ETL pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and change-control processes.
• Ability to travel to Beltsville, MD and work Eastern Time hours.
• Background investigation and security/training clearance.

Responsibilities

• Administer Ex Libris Alma and manage permissions, profiles, and configurations.
• Monitor Alma jobs and data workflows; resolve ingest/indexing issues.
• Maintain Python data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and sync.
• Lead change-management lifecycle with testing, deployment, rollback, and docs.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and maintain governance.
• Maintain dashboards, monitoring, access controls, and incident management.
• Support business continuity and release management including backup procedures.
• Diagnose cross-system metadata and data-flow issues across Alma and integrations.
• Produce technical documentation and collaborate with vendors and teams.
• Complete required security/privacy training and Eastern Time coverage.
