Job summary

LAC Federal is seeking an experienced Alma Platform Manager to provide senior technical support across library systems, focusing on Alma administration, Python pipelines, and data integration for cataloging, indexing, and downstream synchronization.

The role requires collaboration with agency librarians, IT staff, metadata teams, and vendors, with a strong emphasis on change management, governance, and secure operations. Remote work with periodic on-site attendance will apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Science or related field.
• Experience administering Ex Libris Alma platform.
• Proficiency in Python-based workflow automation.
• Experience with data-flow, indexing, and schema issues.
• Familiarity with MARC21/Dublin Core/RDA/MODS.

Responsibilities

• Administer Ex Libris Alma including configs and SSO.
• Monitor Alma jobs and data workflows.
• Maintain Python-based data pipelines for ingestion and indexing.
• Lead change-management lifecycle with sandbox testing and rollback.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum and governance.
• Maintain operational monitoring and incident management.
• Support release management and backup procedures.
• Diagnose cross-system metadata/data-flow issues.
• Produce technical documentation and runbooks.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
• Generate performance metrics and reports.
• Ensure compliance with federal requirements.
