Job summary

LAC Federal is seeking an experienced Alma Platform Manager to provide senior technical support for a federal agency. The role combines Ex Libris Alma administration, Python-based workflow automation, metadata integration, and change management to maintain a secure, well-governed library systems environment.

Work arrangement is primarily remote with periodic on-site attendance for mandatory meetings, training, or other activities in Beltsville, MD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Library/Information Science, or related field.
• Experience administering Ex Libris Alma Library Services Platform: roles/permissions, job monitoring, troubleshooting.
• Proven Python-based workflow automation experience with ingestion/transformation scripts and external integrations.
• Familiarity with MARC/RDA metadata standards and Alma metadata tools.
• Proven ability to work in Agile/Scrum teams and follow formal change-control processes.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Ex Libris Alma components, configurations, and SSO/audit logs.
• Monitor Alma jobs and data workflows; troubleshoot disruptions in ingest/indexing/publishing.
• Maintain Python data pipelines for automated ingestion, transformation, and synchronization.
• Lead change-management lifecycle: sandbox testing, deployment planning, validation, rollback, and documentation.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies; manage backlogs and user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Maintain operational monitoring, dashboards, incident management, and secure data handling.
• Support business continuity, release management, backup/restore readiness and recovery procedures.
• Diagnose cross-system metadata/data-flow issues across Alma and downstream systems.
