Job summary

Switch is seeking an Alarm Systems Engineer to establish and evolve alarm management in our mission-critical environments. You will help design, validate, and maintain alarms to support operator response and operational decision-making at our data centers.

You will lead rationalization, collaborate with engineering teams, and drive improvements to reduce nuisance alarms while maturing the Alarm Management Program. Remote-friendly and centered in a high-tech, innovative culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in mission-critical operational technology or similar industrial environments.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with cross-team collaboration.
• Commitment to accuracy, accountability, and validation over assumptions.

Responsibilities

• Lead alarm rationalization across power and environmental systems.
• Maintain the Master Alarm Database (MADB) with accurate, actionable data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define, configure, test, and integrate alarms.
• Validate alarm behavior through testing before production.
• Support Alarm Philosophy and Alarm Management Program maturation.
• Analyze alarm data to reduce nuisance alarms and floods.
• Ensure alarm workflows support operator response and incident management.
• Improve alarm visibility, routing, and actionability with tooling teams.
• Develop testing methodologies and repeatable processes for alarm lifecycle.
