Job summary

Investigo is seeking an Alarm Management Program Lead on a contract basis for a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the United States. You will drive the execution, governance, and delivery tracking of a comprehensive alarm management program across multiple manufacturing nodes.

Starting mid-August 2026 for roughly 16.5 months, you will lead alarm rationalization, configuration, testing, validation, go-live readiness, SOP development, and on-site handoffs, collaborating with Automation

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of ISA-18.2/IEC 62682 lifecycle principles and alarm governance.

  • Experience with historian reporting, KPIs, and archival verification.
  • Regulated environment validation and testing expertise.

Job description

Job Title: Alarm Management Program Lead (Contract)

A leading pharmaceutical manufacturing facility is seeking a contract Alarm Management Program Lead to drive the execution, governance, and delivery tracking of a comprehensive alarm management program. This role will ensure alarms are designed, rationalized, configured, tested, governed, and monitored consistently across manufacturing nodes. The position is approximately 16.5 months in duration, starting mid-August 2026 through December 31, 2027.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain the alarm strategy and governance framework through multi-functional review and approval.
  • Lead alarm rationalization planning and execution, including classification, prioritization, approval routing, and documentation quality.
  • Coordinate PCS alarm configuration implementation and peer review.
  • Drive alarm notification system setup, PI Historian integration, dashboard/reporting design, and end-to-end notification testing.
  • Plan and coordinate validation and testing activities, including critical alarm test cases and go-live readiness.
  • Support SOP development, alarm response training, and operations handoff.
  • Establish ongoing monitoring cadence for daily alarm review, weekly PI reporting, monthly KPI review, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience leading alarm management programs or major alarm lifecycle workstreams in GxP manufacturing or process-control environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISA-18.2/IEC 62682 alarm management lifecycle principles, alarm philosophy, alarm rationalization, configuration management, and alarm performance monitoring.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Process Control Systems (PCS) alarm configuration concepts, HMI alarm presentation, alarm help, priority assignment, limits, delays, and alarm shelving/suppression governance.
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional rationalization workshops with Automation Engineering, Operations, Process Engineering, Quality, HSE, and Process Safety representatives.
  • Experience with historian reporting concepts for alarm data collection, dashboards, KPIs, and archival verification.
  • Strong validation and testing experience in a regulated environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Capabilities:
  • Pharmaceutical or life sciences manufacturing experience, preferably in a greenfield site, start-up, commissioning, qualification, or operational-readiness context.
  • Experience with alarm notification/escalation systems, on-call schedules, and integration testing of notification paths.
  • Experience creating SOPs, training materials, go-live readiness packages, and operational handoff plans.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet, Power BI, or similar tools for program tracking and KPI visualization.
  • Familiarity with Rockwell and DeltaV control systems.
