Job summary

Road Scholar is seeking an Air Booking Coordinator in Travel Services to work with domestic and international participants to book air travel to/from program destinations. You will provide excellent customer service in a team environment and resolve needs while becoming an expert in policy and procedure.

The role offers a remote-first work environment, with compensation at $22.00 per hour. Hours are Mon-Fri, 9:00 am–6:00 pm EST, with preference for applicants in the Eastern/Central US time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or comparable experience.
• Excellent communication, decision making, persuasion and closing skills.
• 1-2 years’ experience with Air Travel preferred.
• Demonstrated sales and customer service skills, including negotiation and knowledge of airline fares.
• Strong CRM and computer skills; Amadeus or airline GDS a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sell travel options including domestic and international air and negotiated fares.
• Manage inbound and outbound participant calls and provide first-call resolutions.
• Create preliminary itineraries for enrollments.
• Handle airline schedule changes and weather-related disruptions.
• Assist participants on the Emergency Line as needed.
• Promote additional services and upgrades, educate on benefits.
• Navigate multiple computer apps while on the phone.
• Meet or exceed Travel Services performance metrics.
