Job summary

Peraton is seeking an Air Traffic Control Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support FAA NAS modernization efforts. The candidate will serve as the liaison between ATC facilities, FAA program teams, and engineering, ensuring operational readiness and effective modernization of surveillance systems.

The role requires deep knowledge of ATC operations, JO 7110.65, and strong communication. Remote work is permitted within the United States, with up to 75% travel for site visits and readiness reviews.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years, Master’s with 10+ years, Associate with 14+ years, or HS diploma/equivalent with 16+ years experience.
• Experience in Air Traffic Control, Traffic Management, or NAS operational environments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Air Traffic Organization procedures, JO 7110.65, and traffic flow management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the liaison between ATC facilities and FAA program teams.
• Provide operational input to NAS modernization planning, design, and implementation.
• Evaluate and communicate operational impacts of new surveillance technologies or system upgrades.
• Coordinate readiness reviews and field evaluations across FAA facilities.
• Support risk assessments, safety reviews, and integration planning for new/modified ATC systems.
• Facilitate communication between controllers, engineers, and program management to resolve issues.
• Review and provide feedback on airspace procedures, automation interfaces, and workflows.
• Prepare and deliver briefings, reports, and operational recommendations to FAA leadership.
