Job summary

Peraton is seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer – Senior to support the FAA BNATCS Alaska Automation Capability program. You will plan, manage, deconflict, and execute procurement to modernize Alaska Flight Service, applying holistic systems engineering across the life cycle.

You will help transition radio communications to IP-based environments, coordinate with Telecommunications Integrated Services, and ensure requirements are defined, verified, and aligned with government standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree requirements for systems or infrastructure engineering; advanced degrees preferred.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
• Experience supporting FAA, DoD, or federal aviation/telecom programs.
• Familiarity with VoIP systems, VCS, and legacy radio architectures.
• Strong systems engineering principles including requirements development, verification, and validation.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements and compliance frameworks for federal infrastructure.
• Proven ability to coordinate across multi-discipline teams and manage complex stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Synchronize cutover schedules with stakeholders to minimize outages and ensure integration of legacy, VoIP, and new Voice Communication System (VCS).
• Generate quantifiable requirements based on customer needs, system design, and logistics.
• Translate high-level strategies into system requirements and lower-level implementation specs with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure compliance with client and government standards through formal verification methods.
• Support design, development, and evaluation of end-to-end systems across their life cycle.
• Design interfaces and integrate system elements for cohesive end-to-end performance.
• Participate in design reviews of hardware and software for traceability and compliance.
• Generate system-level verification procedures and acceptance test procedures.
• Review test plans to meet contractual objectives and participate in testing.
