Job summary

BSPS is seeking an AI Software Engineer in Anchorage, AK to design and implement AI-powered capabilities across LogIT applications. You will build conversational interfaces, copilots, and intelligent assistants, and apply robust prompt engineering and security practices.

You will work with product owners and engineers to integrate AI features via APIs and microservices, maintain RAG pipelines, monitor LLM performance, and ensure data governance and responsible AI standards in enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5-10 years' equivalent software experience.
• 3-5 years software engineering experience.
• Experience with modern languages: .NET, Python, Java.
• Experience with LLM APIs (Azure OpenAI/OpenAI/ Gemini).
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement AI-powered capabilities across LogIT applications within the portfolio.
• Develop and integrate conversational interfaces, copilots, and intelligent assistants into logistics and operational systems.
• Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines leveraging enterprise data sources, documents, and knowledge bases.
• Implement prompt engineering techniques, guardrails, and orchestration workflows to ensure accurate and secure AI outputs.
• Integrate AI capabilities into existing systems using APIs, microservices, and middleware.
• Collaborate with Product Owner(s), system engineers, and stakeholders to support implementation of AI use cases across the portfolio.
• Attend daily team meetings, execute assigned workload, and work within project management tools i.e. JIRA, Confluence, etc.
• Support monitoring, evaluation, and observability of LLM performance and usage.
• Adhere to security, data governance, and Responsible AI standards.
• Contribute to reusable AI components and shared engineering practices.
