Job summary

VIATEQ Corporation in Washington, DC is seeking an AI Security Engineer (Mid) to support a federal government client. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain an MBI or higher, PIV credentials, and IT access authorizations prior to work.

Primary work will be on-site in Washington, DC with approved remote/telework locations. Responsibilities include designing and deploying AI-powered security solutions, developing ML models for anomaly detection, implementing AI-driven SIEM

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
• At least 4 years in IT or cybersecurity with 2+ years in AI security engineering or governance.
• Experience developing, training, and deploying ML models for security or analytics.
• Experience integrating AI into enterprise security tools and workflows.
• Familiarity with FISMA, NIST SP 800‑53, and AI governance guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI-powered security solutions for real-time threat detection and compliance monitoring.
• Develop ML models for anomaly detection and threat analytics in collaboration with SOC analysts.
• Implement AI-driven SIEM enhancements in Microsoft Sentinel with ML-based detection rules.
• Integrate AI capabilities into the enterprise security tool stack and data pipelines.
• Automate cybersecurity workflows and AI-driven risk assessment tooling.
• Develop automated compliance monitoring tools aligned with NIST/FISMA requirements.
