Job summary

Experian is seeking an AI Native Staff Architect to define the platform's future by balancing long-term architectural vision with practical execution. You will lead cloud-native design on AWS, mentor engineers, and translate fraud and risk requirements into scalable solutions.

This remote role reports to the Director of Engineering and focuses on RESTful services, event-driven data platforms, and AI/ML capabilities to enhance fraud detection and device intelligence at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing cloud-native solutions on AWS and expertise in AWS services (EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Lambda)
• Experience designing scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized Java architectures for high-volume, low-latency, cloud-native applications
• Experience architecting complex mission-critical systems serving millions of requests with performance and availability requirements
• Track record translating requirements into technical solutions while managing multiple engineering teams
• Expertise in designing event-driven, data-intensive platforms and APIs
• Knowledge of asynchronous processing, Kafka, database optimization, API design principles, and low-latency, high-throughput systems
• Experience leading technical strategy, establishing architecture standards, and mentoring engineers
• Experience translating technical concepts and aligning engineering with business objectives

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture design and implementation of cloud-native solutions for identity fraud detection and risk platforms on AWS.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-optimized while aligning with goals.
• Make architecture decisions and manage technical strategy for digital intelligence domains.
• Establish coding standards, conduct architecture reviews, and mentor engineers.
• Design and implement RESTful services for large volumes of real-time data with low latency.
• Architect systems using Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Kafka, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Provide technical leadership across engineering teams on solution design and patterns.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, data science, security, and partners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Build event-driven data-intensive platforms processing device signals and risk indicators at scale.
• Support continuous delivery, observability, security, and cost optimization.
