Job summary

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, is seeking an AI Project Attorney to lead generative AI initiatives across the firm. Based in the U.S. or fully remote, you will collaborate with Innovation and practice groups to deploy AI in legal delivery.

You will design workflows, train lawyers, and advance AI-enabled tools while staying current with market developments. Travel may be required; your work will impact client service and efficiency.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited US law school and current bar admission.
• Minimum of three years as an attorney in a law firm or comparable legal environment.
• Strong technical skills including familiarity with generative AI and ML in the practice of law.
• Experience building generative AI workflows, use cases, and prompts for the practice.
• Experience driving and supporting the adoption of legal technology.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present complex ideas simply.
• Ability to manage workflows, documents, and communications.
• Analytical, project management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Self-starter capable of independent work and prioritization.
• Ability to collaborate across organizational levels.
• Flexible, proactive, and innovative mindset.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Develop generative AI workflows, use cases, and prompts for the practice of law.
• Create use case materials for different practice areas, roles, and engagement phases.
• Expand prompt, workflow, and example libraries and drive utilization by lawyers.
• Collaborate with practice group innovation and practice support attorneys on AI adoption.
• Train lawyers and timekeepers on AI, including 1:1 sessions, and run hands-on workshops.
• Develop and deliver workshops, design-thinking sessions, and roundtables on AI and use cases.
• Stay informed on market changes, model updates, and best practices in AI space.
• Assist clients on AI and legal tech solutions and develop case studies for marketing.
