Job summary

Cisco Systems is seeking a Senior Software Security Lead to own the security posture for the IT and Enterprise Operations portfolio. You will lead threat modeling, secure design reviews, and architecture decisions across complex software systems, including AI-enabled features.

You will translate threat trends into prioritized actions, coordinate with Product Management, Engineering, IT/Enterprise Operations, and BIS partners, and drive security metrics and risk reduction across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, plus 11+ years in software/application security or related senior/lead role.
• Proven experience leading threat modeling and secure design/architecture reviews for complex software systems, including AI- and LLM-enabled features.
• Demonstrated experience interpreting SAST/DAST/SCA results and translating findings into risk-based remediation guidance for cloud-native apps and modern CI/CD pipelines (containers, Kubernetes).
• Validated ability to influence engineering and product leadership and drive security outcomes across teams without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Own the portfolio security posture with current, data-backed views of risk and security debt.
• Lead threat modeling and secure design/architecture reviews across the portfolio, adapting security by design to context.
• Advise and influence across Product Management, Engineering, IT/Enterprise Operations, and BIS to align security priorities with business goals.
• Define and lead security engineering metrics, including risk reduction, MTTR, security debt, and developer adoption.
