Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with clients, rapidly designing and deploying AI, data, cloud, and digital solutions. You will lead architecture discussions, design scalable cloud-native apps, and implement AI copilots and RAG workflows across industries.

The role is remote for qualified applicants in the United States, with occasional travel to client sites and Cognizant offices. Visa independence required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, technical consulting, or similar roles.
• Strong programming expertise in Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go.
• Experience developing cloud-native solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP, including APIs, microservices, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, enterprise integrations, and client-facing engagements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with client stakeholders to understand objectives and translate them into architectures.
• Lead discovery workshops and sessions to define solution roadmaps.
• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native apps, APIs, microservices, and integrations.
• Build AI capabilities including Generative AI and RAG solutions for clients.
• Own technical delivery across client-facing initiatives with measurable outcomes.
