Job summary

EY is seeking a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer to own end-to-end delivery of AI-native systems for a client in regulated industries. You will be embedded with the client, maintain hands-on coding and system design, and lead a small cell including an Implementation Engineer and a Data Engineer.

You will balance tradeoffs, regulatory demands, and production readiness while building trust with stakeholders and driving secure, production-grade outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years delivering complex enterprise systems in regulated or client-facing contexts.
• Hands-on engineering depth across integration-heavy architectures and cloud platforms.
• Experience with AI-enabled application stacks and forward-deployed, customer-facing roles.
• Proven ability to lead a small technical team while remaining an IC.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end outcome delivery for the cell, including scoping, tradeoffs, and production readiness.
• Embed with client to translate business needs into executable technical solutions under constraints.
• Serve as the primary technical interface to client stakeholders and manage expectations.
• Stay hands-on and dive into code, data, and client systems as needed.
• Deploy and stabilize solutions in the client environment, ensuring release readiness.
• Direct the cell’s Implementation and Data Engineers to ensure coherent production-grade outcomes.
• Ensure deployments meet safety, integrity, and cost constraints with control authorities.
