Job summary

EY in the United States seeks a hands-on Lead Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to own end-to-end delivery of AI-native systems for a regulated client engagement. The role is embedded with the client and leads a small cell, driving technical direction, tradeoffs, and production readiness while maintaining strong client presence and delivery outcomes.

You will work directly with client stakeholders, design critical components, and ensure secure, production-grade solutions under real constraints.

Qualifications

• 8+ years delivering complex enterprise systems in regulated or client-facing contexts.
• Hands-on engineering depth across integration-heavy architectures and cloud platforms.
• Experience with AI-enabled application stacks (agentic systems, orchestration, LLM-backed services).
• Proven ability to lead a small technical team while remaining an individual contributor.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end outcome delivery for the cell, including scoping, tradeoffs, and production readiness.
• Embed with the client to define real problems and translate needs into technical solutions.
• Serve as primary technical interface to client stakeholders and manage expectations.
• Stay hands-on, designing and building critical parts of the solution as needed.
• Deploy, adapt, and stabilize solutions in the client environment with release accountability.
• Direct the cell's Implementation and Data Engineers to ensure cohesive delivery.
• Ensure deployments meet safety, integrity, and cost constraints for regulated environments.
